Step 3: Delete the Partition Right-click on the partition you want to delete and select “Delete Volume” from the options. This will erase all the data on the partition.

Step 4: Create a New Partition Right-click on the unallocated space on the hard drive and select “New Simple Volume”. This will launch the New Simple Volume Wizard.

Step 5: Configure the New Partition In the New Simple Volume Wizard, follow the prompts to configure the new partition. Assign a new drive letter, set the partition size, and choose the file system format (NTFS is the most common).

Step 6: Format the New Partition Once you have configured the new partition, click on “Finish” to create the new partition. You will be prompted to format the partition. Click on “Format this volume with the following settings” and select the file system format (NTFS) and allocation unit size (default is recommended). Enter a volume label if desired. Then click on “Next” and “Finish” to format the new partition.

Step 7: Verify the Reformatting Once the new partition is formatted, it will appear in the Disk Management window as a healthy partition.

Congratulations, you have successfully reformatted your hard drive on Windows 10. The reformatting process may take some time depending on the size of the hard drive, but once it’s complete, you will have a fresh new partition with the desired file system format.
