“Sister Wives” premiered on TLC in 2010 and has since become a popular reality series that follows the lives of a polygamous family led by Kody Brown. The show has aired for fifteen seasons, with each season consisting of multiple episodes.
According to sources, Kody Brown and his four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn, receive a salary for appearing on the show. Aside from their salaries for appearing on the show, the Browns have also earned money from book deals and merchandise sales related to the show. They have also been paid for public appearances and speaking engagements.
The family has faced legal issues related to their polygamous lifestyle in the past. They were investigated by the Utah Attorney General’s office in 2010 for possible charges of bigamy. Consequently, they moved to Nevada, where polygamy is not explicitly illegal. Nevertheless, they still faced legal challenges, including a 2013 ruling that found Utah’s ban on polygamy to be unconstitutional.
