Tails, also known as Miles “Tails” Prower, is a fictional character in the Sonic the Hedgehog series of video games. He is a young fox with two tails that he can use to fly and is known for being Sonic’s loyal sidekick. The age of Tails in 2023 would depend on his birth year, which has not been explicitly stated in the games. However, we can make some educated guesses based on the information available.
First, it’s important to note that the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has had several different canons and timelines over the years, so the age of Tails in 2023 may differ depending on which iteration of the character we are looking at. For the purposes of this answer, we will be looking at the “modern” Sonic canon, which includes games such as Sonic Adventure, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic Forces.
In Sonic Adventure, which was released in 1998, Tails is referred to as an “eight-year-old genius.” This would suggest that Tails was born around the year 1990 in the game’s canon. Sonic Adventure takes place in the year 1998, so if we assume that Tails is still eight years old during the events of the game, then he would have been born in 1990 and would be 33 years old in 2023.
However, it’s worth noting that the Sonic the Hedgehog series is not always consistent when it comes to character ages. For example, in Sonic Heroes, which was released in 2003, Tails is referred to as a “kid” and is shown to be significantly smaller than the other characters. This would suggest that he is younger than eight years old in that game’s canon. Additionally, in the Sonic Boom spinoff series, Tails is depicted as a teenager, which would suggest that he is older than eight years old in that canon.
Another complicating factor is that the Sonic series has had several different continuities over the years, with some games taking place in alternate timelines or universes. For example, the Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) game takes place in a timeline where Sonic and his friends are all several years older than they are in the “modern” canon. In that game, Tails is shown to be around the same age as Sonic, who is depicted as a young adult. If we were to consider that game’s canon, then Tails would be in his late 20s or early 30s in 2023, depending on his exact age in the game.
In conclusion, the age of Tails in 2023 is uncertain and dependent on the canon we are looking at. Based on the information available, we can make an educated guess that Tails was born around 1990 in the modern Sonic canon, which would make him 33 years old in 2023. However, the Sonic series is not always consistent when it comes to character ages, and there have been several different canons and timelines over the years, so it’s possible that Tails could be younger or older depending on the specific continuity.
