Rip Wheeler, played by Cole Hauser, is a popular character on the hit television series Yellowstone. The show follows the Dutton family, who own the largest ranch in the United States and are constantly facing threats from outside forces. Rip is the foreman of the ranch and a loyal ally of the Duttons. As the show has progressed through its five seasons, fans have grown to love Rip’s character, leading to speculation about his fate in Season 5.
As of the knowledge cutoff date of September 2021, the fifth season of Yellowstone had not yet aired, and there was no official word on whether or not Rip would be returning. During a panel discussion at PaleyFest LA in 2019, Hauser spoke about the challenges of playing such a complex character, saying, “He’s been through a lot of things in his life, and he’s had to do a lot of things that aren’t necessarily morally right. But he’s always trying to do what’s right for the Duttons and the ranch.” Hauser also hinted at what fans could expect from Rip in future seasons, saying, “I think we’re going to see a lot more of Rip’s past and why he is the way he is.”
