Frequently Asked Questions
Are non-GMO seeds always organic? Not necessarily. Non-GMO means seeds haven’t been genetically modified, while organic seeds are grown following organic farming standards. Some non-GMO seeds are not certified organic.
What does a germination guarantee cover? It usually covers replacement seeds if the original batch fails to germinate above a specified percentage when planted under proper conditions.
How do I know if seeds are truly non-GMO? Reputable companies label seeds as non-GMO and often include certifications or testing documentation. Buying from trusted sources reduces risk.
Can heirloom seeds have lower germination rates? Sometimes heirlooms may have slightly lower germination rates than hybrids due to genetic diversity, but good seed companies test and guarantee viability.
Is it worth paying more for seeds with a germination guarantee? Yes, a guarantee provides assurance that you won’t lose your investment if seeds fail, saving time and money in the long run.
Do all seed companies offer germination guarantees? No, many small or informal sellers do not. Look for companies that explicitly state their germination policies.
