There are a few characters named Jimmy or Steve that appear in the popular television show “Shameless,” so the answer to this question depends on which character you are referring to.
The character of Jimmy Lishman, played by actor Justin Chatwin, is a recurring character throughout the early seasons of “Shameless.” He is introduced as the love interest of main character Fiona Gallagher, and their on-again, off-again relationship drives much of the plot in the first few seasons. Jimmy disappears at the end of Season 3, and his fate is left uncertain.
In Season 4, a character named Jack appears who bears a striking resemblance to Jimmy. It is eventually revealed that Jack is actually Jimmy, who faked his own death and assumed a new identity to escape the dangerous people he was involved with. Jimmy’s return causes tension between him and Fiona, who has moved on with her life.
However, Jimmy’s return is short-lived, and he eventually leaves again at the end of Season 5. He does make a brief appearance in the Season 7 premiere, but only in a flashback.
Overall, Jimmy’s story arc in “Shameless” is one of the show’s most complicated and controversial. Some fans love the character and his tumultuous relationship with Fiona, while others find him frustrating and dislike his tendency to manipulate those around him. Whether or not Jimmy ever returns to the show again is unclear, but his story has left a lasting impact on “Shameless” and its fans.
