Is there an animal with only one leg?

There are no known animals that have only one leg as their primary mode of movement. All animals with legs, whether they are vertebrates or invertebrates, have at least two legs that they use for movement.

However, some animals have adapted to use only one or a few legs for specific tasks. For example, some species of birds, such as flamingos and storks, stand on one leg for extended periods of time while they rest or sleep. Similarly, some insects, such as mantises and some spiders, use their front legs for grasping prey or navigating their environment.

There are also some animals that can move effectively with only two legs, such as kangaroos, which hop on their powerful hind legs, or bipedal lizards like the Bipedal Monitor. However, no animal is known to survive or move efficiently with just one leg.
