In the vast and blocky world of Minecraft, there are numerous items and entities to discover. However, some are rarer than others, and they can be highly sought after by players. Here, we will delve into the three rarest things in Minecraft, discussing their properties, how to obtain them, and why they are considered rare.
- The Ender Dragon Egg: The Ender Dragon Egg is one of the rarest and most coveted items in Minecraft. It is a decorative block that can be obtained after defeating the Ender Dragon, the boss mob found in the End dimension. When the Ender Dragon is defeated, it drops a single egg, which appears on top of the End Portal portal frame. The egg cannot be mined directly, and instead, players must interact with it to pick it up, which makes it unique among other blocks in the game.
The Ender Dragon Egg serves no practical purpose in terms of gameplay, as it cannot be used to craft any items or perform any actions. However, it is highly valued for its symbolic significance as a trophy of victory. Many players see obtaining the Ender Dragon Egg as the ultimate accomplishment in Minecraft, as defeating the Ender Dragon is considered one of the most challenging tasks in the game. The rarity of the Ender Dragon Egg is further enhanced by the fact that there is only one egg per world, making it a truly unique and rare item.
- Notch Apple (Enchanted Golden Apple): The Notch Apple, also known as the Enchanted Golden Apple, is an incredibly rare and powerful consumable item in Minecraft. It is a golden apple that has been enchanted, and it provides the player with several potent buffs when consumed, including regeneration, absorption, resistance, and fire resistance, among others. These effects last for several minutes, making the Notch Apple an extremely valuable asset for players in battles or challenging situations.
The rarity of the Notch Apple stems from the fact that it is not naturally generated in the game and cannot be crafted. In earlier versions of Minecraft, the Notch Apple could be crafted using eight blocks of gold and an apple, but this recipe was removed in later updates, making the Notch Apple an even rarer item. As of the current version of Minecraft, the only way to obtain a Notch Apple is through chest loot in generated structures, such as dungeons, temples, mineshafts, bastions, and fortress chests in the Nether. However, the chances of finding a Notch Apple in these chests are exceedingly low, estimated to be less than 1%, making it a highly prized and elusive item among players.
- Wither Skeleton Skull: The Wither Skeleton Skull is a rare and essential item for summoning the Wither, another formidable boss mob in Minecraft. To summon the Wither, players need three Wither Skeleton Skulls and three Wither Skeleton Skeletons. The Wither Skeleton Skulls are the rarest part of this summoning process, as they have a very low drop rate when Wither Skeletons are defeated.
Wither Skeletons are hostile mobs that can be found in the Nether, and they have a 2.5% chance of dropping a Wither Skeleton Skull when killed. However, this chance can be increased by using a Looting-enchanted weapon, which can raise the drop rate up to 5.5% with a Looting III-enchanted sword. Even with this increased drop rate, obtaining three Wither Skeleton Skulls can be a challenging and time-consuming task, as players need to defeat multiple Wither Skeletons and rely on luck to get the rare drops.
The Wither Skeleton Skulls are crucial for players who wish to challenge the Wither, as they are necessary ingredients for crafting the Wither
